WIENET INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET SWITCHES
AND MEDIA CONVERTERS

Wieland Electric introduces its wienet line of unmanaged, industrial Ethernet switches and media converters. Our Ethernet switches solve the most demanding industrial data acquisition, control, and Ethernet I/O requirements. The media converters allow connection of copper-based 10/100BaseTX Ethernet devices to fiber-based 100BaseFX cabling infrastructure. Both product lines, housed in a hardened metal, DIN Rail mountable enclosure, offer superior reliability, robustness, throughput, and ease of installation.

Wienet industrial Ethernet switch models, 105TX and 108TX, provide five (5) and eight (8) RJ-45, auto sensing, 10/100BaseTX ports, respectively. The wienet media converters, models 102MC, provide one RJ-45, auto sensing, 10/100BaseTX port and one ST or SC, duplex, 100BaseFX fiber optic port. Typical rugged features to prevent process interruption and data loss in an industrial environment include an extended temperature range, -40°C up to 80°C, increased mechanical shock, vibration, and noise protection, ESD diodes on all RJ-45 ports, surge protection on dual redundant power inputs, an MTBF > 2 million hours, and a Class 1, Div 2 hazardous location rating (UL Listed 1604), with full IEEE 802.3 compliance. The media converters include models for use with either multimode fiber, models 102MC, or singlemode fiber, models 102MCE. The singlemode models are available for use with either 15 km, 40 km, or 80 km fiber lengths.

Plug and play operation, supported by auto sensing of speed, flow, and cable type for both switches and converters, simplifies installation. LED link, activity, and power indicators display operational status, further contributing to ease of use.

All models support an industry best 2000 MAC addresses, thus enabling support for extremely sophisticated network architectures. Rated for full wire speed communication performance, bandwidth is achievable up to 1.6 Gb/s.
