Our convictions
From the time the company started until today, as a medium-sized global player, providing the customers with safe and innovative products for building installation and industrial automation has been a leading corporate principle for Wieland. In addition to achieving economic goals, responsible conduct towards mankind and the environment is an integral component of our company philosophy.
As a worldwide operating company, we commit ourselves to our environmental, social and corporate obligations. In 1997 we introduced an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and EMAS, and improving it continuously underscores the high priority we place on these endeavors. Since then – and this applies worldwide to all Wieland locations – we have been comprehensively certified and observe the highest standards. To send a clear signal of our convictions, in 2008 we voluntarily joined the Global Compact of the United Nations, and support the principals of this initiative within the framework of our business activities.
Our employees
We are convinced that very good working conditions, tailored training and continuing education, and the high motivation of our employees contribute decisively to our success and to securing the future of the company. This conviction is reflected in our training and continuing education concept, as well as in the support of numerous community projects and social institutions.
As a strong partner for the Bamberg region, we feel responsible to the location of our headquarters and the Franconian surroundings as a whole, and so engage ourselves in the areas of sport, youth development, culture, and cooperation with universities. We are also active in the social sector, in order to support physically or socially disadvantaged individuals. Through this commitment we promote the world heritage city of Bamberg, and its surroundings, as an attractive home for our employees. Through our willingness to commit to social support, we demonstrate that we see ourselves as a family company with a firm background of social entrepreneurship and place the highest value on an atmosphere characterized by cohesiveness, helpfulness and team spirit.
