General

This new connection system provides the user with an I/O wiring system which saves both time and money.

There is no costly individual wiring. This is replaced by a precut plug-in flat ribbon cable connection. Numerous interface modules and the appropriate flat-round cables make installation easy.

Application

The front connector provides the connection between the I/O modules of the SIMATIC S 5-115U and the plu-in flat-round cables.

The flat-round cables are connected via a 50-pole ribbon plug connector inaccordance with DIN 41651. This plug connector has long locking levers. Socket connectors with strain relief brackets are recommended for connecting ribbon cables.

Interface Module

General

Preassembled interface modules are used to connect the sensors and actuators to the I/O plug system. This provides optimum matching to the relevant PLC module.

The connection is extremely simple. The plug-in flat-round cable connects the fron connector and a screw terminal strip connects the sensors and the actuators. This terminal strip is printed with the same numbers as the front connector (1...47). If required, a shield and the protective conductor can be connected at two additional connections (ground). Long and short locking levers are supplied with the ribbon cable plug connector.

Application

This interface module is suitable for general purpose applications. With the exception of the 6ES5 451-7LA21 module, it is suitable for connection to all digital and analog modules with 46-pole front connectors if the rated maximum nominal voltage and maximum current are not exceeded.

Application

The front connector provides the connection between the I/O modules of the SIMATIC S5-135U to 155U and the plug-in flat-round cables. The flat-round cables are connected via a 50-pole ribbon plug connector in accordance with DIN 41651. Front connectors 1 and 2 are not connected to the ribbon plug connector. If required, both signals in the front connector can be connected to quick connect terminals X1 and X2. The ribbon cable connector (X1) is fitted with long locking levers as standard. Socket connectors with strain relief brackets are recommended for connecting ribbon cables.

Relay output module for S5 - 115U to 155U

Applications

These relay output modules are used to perform a variety of switching functions at PLC output level. The relays are controlled by a digital output module with 32 outputs. Each module (A + B) has 16 plug-in relays. The sequence of the relays corresponds to the same sequence as the PLC outputs. The positive/negative supply to the PLC module is located in each case at the relay module, at terminal strip X2. One fuse with 0.5 A nominal current is installed per byte. Terminal strip X2 has exactly the same terminal marking as the front connector for the S5 - 115 U control system. Each of the jumpers can be plugged in or removed (connected or isolated) as required. Jumpers X3 and X4 may not be removed when connecting control systems S 5 - 135U and S 5 - 155U. In this case +24 V - is connected at terminal 1 or 13 and 25 or 37 and 0 V at terminal 11 or 23 and 35 or 47. Connections 22 and 23 of modules 441-4 and 451-4 are not connected at the relay module.
